Again, Sunday Dare donates palliatives to mother of late Flying Eagles Captain

The Minister of Youth and Sport has extended his kind gesture to the mother of late captain of the Flying Eagles, AliJeje Ibrahim.

The donation came a few weeks after late Yekini’s mother received some palliatives from the Honourable Minister.

According to the statement released on Saturday by the Minister’s Special Adviser on Media, John-Joshua Akanji.

He said the Honourable Minister gave the palliatives to Alijeje’s mother Mrs Hajia Khadija Inuwa Ali to appreciate the immense contribution of her late son to the development of sport in Nigeria during his lifetime.

The donations were given to Mrs Ali in her residence in Plateau, Jos through Sam Pam Adamu Jr, a former international player.

Mrs Ali appreciated the Honourable Minister for remembering her during the holy month of Ramadan.

She said the Minister’s gesture did not only lifted her spirit but convinced her that her son did not labour in vain.

Alijeje died on December 12, 2007, after a brief illness.

He was the Flying Eagles Captain in 1983.

The late player led National Team to win African Youth Championship, known as Tesema Cup.

He captained Nigeria Team to the World Youth Championship in Mexico in 1983.

His teamates are Yisa Shofoluwe, Dahiru Sadi, Tarila Okorowanta, Dehinde Akinlotan, Tajudeen Disu, Femi and Segun Olukanmi, Garba Manu and others.

Alijeje played football for Nigeria Clubs like Mighty Jets of Jos and Abiola Babes of Abeokuta .
