THE Presidency, yesterday, told state governments and law enforcement agencies to ensure easy movement of food trucks at different checkpoints around the country.
The was contained in a statement signed by the Senior Special Adviser to the President on Media and Publicity, Mallam Garba Shehu in Abuja.
He also advised drivers conveying the food items to go along with necessary protective items like facemasks, hand sanitisers and tissues paper.
Sheu explained that the need to ensure easy facilitation of movement of the vehicles was to prevent the food items which serve as palliatives to cushion the effect of lockdown do not spoil before they get to the people.
He expressed disappointment over the delays being encountered at checkpoints by the food transporters across the countries. He warned that lockdown restriction does not affect the vehicles transporting the food materials.
