Father raises alarm as Olajide John, Caleb University undergraduate got missing within the school premises

Mr Oni Olajide has raised alarm about his son whose where about became unknown after he finished his semester examination at Caleb University, Imota Lagos.

Mr Olajide gave a detailed explanation while speaking with the Oxygen Media reporter on Monday 13,2021.

The father said that he heard last from his son John on August 13, 2021, when he requested transportation fare to visit his mum in Ibadan.

He further stated that after he sent the money, his son phone has been unreachable.

Mr Olajide said from the school attendance record, his son is within the school premises as he has not signed out or cheçked out from the campus.

Mr Olajide said as quoted:

“The students usually pass through 4 sections of security checks before checking in and out of the school”

“And from the school records my son didn’t sign any of the security check-out documents, which implies that he would still be within the school premises”

“I requested for the school CCTV footages as I was aware that Caleb University installed cameras at strategic positions within the premises, but the authority could not produce any”

” I’ve reported the case at State CID Police station, Panti and Police has promised to do a thorough investigation on the matter”

“I want my child back home as his absence has destabilised the whole family” the father lamented.

The School Dean of Student affairs when contacted said that the school authority is aware of the situation and they are doing everything possible to get to the root of the matter.

He however said that the boy has finished his examination since Friday, August 13, 2021, and he was supposed to have left the school within 48hrs based on the school rules and regulations.

The Dean said:

“John school guardian called his dad on Tuesday, August 17, 2021, to inform him that he saw his bags and phone in school but he couldn’t find John”

“The WhatsApp conversation on John’s phone shows that his sister instructed him to leave his bags behind while he travelled down to Ibadan to meet his mum,” He said.

The Dean however said that the matter has been reported to the police state CID, Panti for proper investigation.
