So claims a new report which alleges that the singer infected a female acquaintance with genital herpes and settled the case with $1.1m after she sued him.
According to Radar Online, the incident reportedly happened in 2009, when a girlfriend of the 8-time Grammy winner had unprotected sex with a female without disclosing that he had the dreadful virus.
From the document the woman filed in court, she said she saw a “greenish discharge” oozing from the singer’s peen and raised concerns. Allegedly, Usher later convinced her that his test result was negative and they continued to have sex.
“Believing Raymond’s statements that it had been nothing and cleared up, [she] continued her relationship,” the woman’s lawyer wrote in a legal complaint for damages.
The woman had no problem, until three weeks later, when she woke up “feeling very sick” with a “fever of 100 degrees, chills, headache, and aches and pains.”
The woman, also, reportedly, “developed lesions and blisters in her honeypot.” She went for treatment and posted a cheque of $2,754.40.
The woman accused the singer of “consciously and purposefully” withholding his herpes diagnosis from her, hence why they “continued to have unprotected sex.”
The case was heard at the Superior Court in Los Angeles. Usher underwent a test to confirm his STD state, while the woman was confirmed to be a first time carrier. Speaking in court, the woman said “her health and body have been ruined“, adding that she “suffered severe emotional distress and has been extremely depressed … knowing there is no cure.”
On December 28, 2012, Usher settled the case for $1.1 million.
Meanwhile, herpes has no cure, yet.
